This policy explains how Automotive Investment Group Pty Ltd (ABN 74 657 797 156) trading as Sydney Pink Slips collects, uses, stores and discloses your personal information. In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" mean Sydney Pink Slips, and "you" means anyone who books, enquires about or receives our services, or uses our website.

As part of every inspection our inspector takes photographs, and in some cases short video, of your vehicle. This is a normal and necessary part of the service. The images are used to:
These images may show your vehicle, its registration plate, its VIN, its odometer, its interior, and the surroundings where the vehicle was parked, which may include part of your driveway or property.
We may also use photographs and video taken during an inspection in our own marketing and promotional material. This includes our website, social media accounts, online advertising, printed material and material provided to prospective purchasers of our business.
Where we use an image publicly, we will first remove or obscure:

We will not publish your name, address or contact details alongside an image without your separate written consent.
You may tell us at any time that you do not want images of your vehicle used in our marketing. You do not need to give a reason and it will not affect the service you receive or the price you pay. Requests must be made by email to the address in section 12.
If you email us asking that we stop using an image after it has already been published, we will remove it from any material we control within a reasonable period. We may not be able to recover copies that have already been shared, downloaded or reposted by third parties.
Images taken for inspection record keeping purposes are retained regardless of any marketing objection, because we are required to keep inspection records. See section 7.

Some of the service providers we use store data outside Australia, including in the United States. This includes our booking and CRM platform, our email and messaging providers, and our analytics and advertising providers. By providing your information to us you acknowledge that it may be stored or processed overseas, and that overseas recipients may not be subject to the Privacy Act.
We keep inspection records, including vehicle photographs, for the period required by Transport for NSW under the Authorised Inspection Scheme, and for as long as required by taxation and corporations law. Where we are not required to keep information, we retain it only for as long as it is needed for the purposes described in this policy.
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. These steps include access controls on our systems, use of reputable service providers, and restricting access to those who need it to do their job. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
If we become aware of a data breach likely to result in serious harm, we will act in accordance with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.

We may refuse access in limited circumstances permitted by the Privacy Act. If we do, we will tell you why in writing.
There is no fee to make a request. We may charge a reasonable fee for the cost of providing access where a request is substantial.
